"Writers: 1983-2003.
20 years of Graffiti in Paris."
Excellent French graffiti documentary in the
way of Style Wars
Wow - yes, we're selling this DVD but, really, you
need to see this.
The footage from Paris goes back to 1983 - it's amazing -
and features a lot of world-renowned writers in their teens, highlights
from TV shows, battles, crews wrecking trains, the spots all the crews
used to hang out at with actual footage from that time - as well as
a lot of interviews from more recent years with some of the most influential
writers in the world.
Vincent Cassel whose
brother is in French hip hop group Assassin narrates it - he was the
lead in La
Haine.
Bando and Mode
2 feature extensively,
testament to the fact that they are two of the most influential graf
writers in Europe; while even Seen and Futura are interviewed about
their impressions of the Parisian graffiti scene.
You would be very hard to impress if you
did not get something out of this DVD. Excellent viewing.
